Strategy

  1. Conducted STP analysis for Amikin Survival
  2. Underwent market research about what elements of survival games the users in Japan and Korea like to bring about the most appealing screenshots
  3. We not only searched for benchmark screenshots of the competitors but also discovered creatives of the top survival or pet-training games in Japan and Korea
  4. Based on the data and ideas we gathered from the research, we composed new screenshots for Japan and Korea 
  5. After monitoring the data, we provided an ASO report

  • The main focus in Japan was pets and their form changes according to their evolution
  • We removed the text from the first screenshot, based on our benchmark image research of the top pet-training games (e.g. Pokemon games)
  • Added more color to the text to indicate the elements of the pets, and we decided to do so as having such elements are widely accepted in-game elements in Japan

Korea Screenshots: AFTER

  • Main focus is to highlight the relationship between the pet and the user
  • We also added a screenshot that depicts a hommage to a classic Pokemon game that is widely known in Korea

Results

  • A/B Test performance (iOS): 19.14% (Korea) / 44.63% (Japan)
  • Revenue increase (iOS): 62%
